Descrição da função

• Leading the drafting and reviewing of agreements, developing and managing processes related to legal matters, procedures, and tracking of legal reports, obligations and procedures ongoing or to be actioned;
• Liaising with the operation’s staff to facilitate the negotiation, execution, maintenance, reporting and safekeeping of documentation and any related matters.
• Maintaining excellent internal relationships and lines of communication between External Relations, Regulatory and Strategic Planning Departments in particular and all other company stakeholders, in close coordination with the Chief Strategy Officer;
• Contributing to the legal support of the operation amid the implementation of the business plans;
• Contributing towards the operation’s strategy in what concerns legal & regulatory requirements;
• Communicate and negotiate with external parties (e.g. regulators, public authorities, tax authorities, Central Bank, suppliers, partners or clients), holding legal interest in the company, creating relations of trust;
• Provide clarification on legal language or specifications organization managers;
• Role modelling integrity, ethics, compliance and accountability within corporate policies;
• Maintain current knowledge of updates on legislation and regulation.
• Advising on general business law issues and managing the legal issues of all areas of the company, including but not limited to corporate governance matters, procurement, safety, security, taxation, labor, foreign exchange, insurance, regulation, and all driven contracts, reports, memorandums documentation and other matters required by the CSO;
• Represent the company in courts, public entities and general stakeholder’s in coordination with the CSO and liaison with business units;
• Coordination of other members of the legal department abroad and any eventual external counsel, according to the CSO directives;
• To anticipate and manage the (legal) risks connected with or resulting from the business strategy and operations;
• To pro-actively create and maintain awareness of business employees for (compliance with)
• relevant laws and regulations;
• Ability to deliver high-quality work under deadlines;
• Manage all legal documentation, maintaining the companies archive of legal documentation;
• Hold power of attorney to represent the Executive Committee or the Company whenever required to do so;
• Act has Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of the company and its affiliates;
• Develop the in house legal team, managing its workload, training and overall management.

Aptidões necessárias

• Law Degree, or equivalent.
• Qualified to practice law in the Republic of Angola.
• Written and oral English proficiency.
• Proven experience as a legal counsel in business environment.
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures under Angolan law.
• Experience working in law firms or legal departments of eminent companies.
• Strong ability to grasp legal issues quickly, strong analytical problem solving and decision-making skills, exercise sound judgment and provide practical and constructive legal advice in a time-sensitive dynamic and fast-paced complex global environment.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills (both oral and written). Ability to communicate legal issues in a clear and understandable manner. Inspires trust and confidence through effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong work ethic and ability to manage large workload, multi-task, focus on critical priorities, and otherwise effectively meet client needs. Ability to produce high quality work under deadline pressures. Team player and able to build relationships, both internally and externally, on a global scale.
• Strong organization and teamwork skills. Detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to motivate others.
• A strong commitment to integrity and professionalism and demonstrated passion for excellence.
