Industrial Mechanical Technician

1. Receive the maintenance repair request, perform the work in accordance with the instruction of the supervisor or maintenance nit head if needed;

2. Repairs & maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals & manufacturer’s specifications machineries & mechanical equipments, such as: motors, gearboxes, pneumatic parts, conveyor systems & production machines & equipments, using hand tools, power tools & precision-measuring & testing instruments;

3. Observes mechanical devices in operation, make the necessary trial, and listen to sounds to locate the cause of trouble;

4. Dismantles devices to gain access to & remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, fork lift & power tools;

5. Examines form & texture of parts to detect imperfections;

6. Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers & other measuring instruments;

7. Adjusts functional parts devices & control instruments using hand tools, levels, plump bobs & straight edges;

8. Repairs or replaces defective parts using hand tools & power tools;

9. Installs structural parts and new machines in the Plant;

10. Starts devices to test their performance;

11. May set-up & operate lathe drill press, grinder & other metalworking tools to make & repair parts;

12. Reports work done, remarks & parts used on the repair request form;

13. Performs & implements Preventive Maintenance, and schedule maintenance using appropriate tools & all related references;

14. Responsible to comment & fill-up all routine check lists of Preventive maintenance, Repair request forms, and Work orders as required for data records;

15. Make sure all safety guards are on place on the machine after job execution;

16. Clean the machine after job completion;

17. Assist, direct and train new or lower level technicians.

A 4 – 5 years relevant experience is required or more;
Ability to read, understand & follow international mechanical codes, manuals, schematic diagram, blueprints & other specifications;
Ability to use hand tools & test equipments;
Qualified to perform mechanical work according to safety rules & standard mechanical codes & norms;
Capability to identify & resolve mechanical problems in a timely manner;
May orally communicate in English;
Ability to read & interpret written information;

Other Characteristics:
1. Full time employment status.

1. Must be willing to work a changing shift schedule & on a rotating weekend on call list.

2. Working in Night shift or shift during weekend,

3. Responsive to work calls in after-duty hours, week-ends, holidays & rarely in vacations.

4. Responsive to work telephone calls.
