Diesel and Heavy Vehicle Technician

HEAVY VEHICLE OPERATION TASKS:
Carry out mechanical maintenance operation tasks, which may include but will not be limited to
the following:
 Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order;
 Manoeuvre vehicles into the service workshop safely, ensuring they are positioned correctly to optimise the repair or maintenance activity;
 Ensure the vehicle is parked and is safe to work on prior to using any lifting equipment or processes;
 Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines, and other associated parts;
 Running diagnostic tests (including digital diagnostics) on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions;
 Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering, breaks, and exhausts;
 Conduct fluid change outs (oils, hydraulics, coolants, greases etc) in line with manufacturers recommendations;
 Heavy diesel engine, generators, air compressors and scissor and boom lift operation, maintenance, and repair;
 Use the appropriate power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment in line with safe operating principals;
 Maintain machines and general tools in good working order and managed any spare parts in line with company procedures;
 Manage, order and maintain records of maintenance, repair, and associated spares, ensuring sufficient stock is always available.

 Fluent oral and written English;
 Class A CDL with Hazmat;
 Driving licence;
 Apprentice or other significant work experience in diesel mechanical roles;
 Extensive Heavy goods vehicle experience;
 Rough Terrain Forklift and Telescopic handler experience;
 Vacuum truck operator experience;
 Manual and powered pallet jack experience;
 Pneumatic pressure systems awareness and safety training;
 Evidence of CMMS (SAP) training or equivalent;
 Proficient in Microsoft systems and packages;
 Permit to work systems and process understanding;
 Defensive driving training;
 Man lifting operator;
