Mechanical Rotating Technician

1) Carry out mechanical and rotating planned, preventative, and remedial maintenance on equipment including but not limited to the following:
 Gas Turbines including Turboexpander and all associated mechanical auxiliary equipment;
 Gas compressor systems, coolers, and controls;
 Compressors (reciprocating and centrifugal);
 All fuel systems and distribution networks;
 Joint integrity management, makeup and pipe connection management;
 Hydraulic and pneumatic actuators;
 Manual, relief, control and non-return valves;
 Liquid/gas separators, filters, pig launchers/receivers and gas processing systems;
 Hazardous and non-hazardous atmospheric vessels and systems;
 Electric and hydraulic motors;
 Reciprocating, centrifugal, submersible and diaphragm pumps;
 Pressure storage equipment;
 Tube and plate heat exchangers;
 Turbine and reciprocating prime movers including diesel engines and gearboxes;
 Electric/liquid heaters;
 Fans;
 Hydraulic and pneumatic circuits;
 Mechanical interlocks;
 Manual and mechanical lifting devices including overhead gantry cranes;
 Structures;

2) Maintenance tasks performed will include but not be limited to the following:
 Calibration of mechanical and hydraulic devices and systems;
 Replacement of static and rotating mechanical seals, heat exchanger elements, filter elements, valves and valve trims, machine rotating assemblies, drive belts, ignition devices, lubricants and other machine fluids and bearings;
 Verification of equipment pressure integrity, equipment and machinery performance criteria and mechanical equipment isolation integrity;
 Replacement of static mechanical seals, filter elements, lubricants, hydraulic fluids, chemicals and coolant;
 Monitoring and analysis of equipment mechanical deterioration and malfunction;
 Operation of manual lifting devices to basic rigging standards;
 Provide assistance to site riggers as and when required and undertake Banksman / Slinger duties;
 Operation of machine tools;
 Preparation of resources and work sites with reference to other coincident activities to ensure the effectiveness and safety of complex operation and maintenance work;
 Minimisation of substance release to the environment and safe disposal of hazardous substances;
 Compliance with relevant specifications and standards;
 Selection of PPE appropriate to task;
 Maintenance of accurate and up to date records;
 Evaluation of condition monitoring data;
 Utilisation of a computerised planned and preventative maintenance system;

 Fluent oral and written English;
 Apprenticeship or significant equivalent experience;
 City & Guilds/NVQ level 3 trade qualification or equivalent;
 Evidence of CMMS (SAP) training or equivalent;
 Demonstrable evidence of use, understanding and interpretation of technical mechanical;
drawings, symbols, P&ID’s, and Isometrics.
 Permit to work systems and process understanding;
 Lockout and Tagout;
 Management of change;
 HNC or equivalent Engineering higher education;
 Extensive field experience in maintenance, operation and failure cause and analysis;
 Professional membership;
 Proficient in Microsoft systems and packages;
