Lead Roughneck

The Lead Roughneck is a senior deckhand/crew member on a drilling rig who supervises the roughneck team. They ensure safe and efficient drilling operations, assist in pipe handling, and act as the main point of contact for junior deck crew during drilling activities.

This role is physically demanding and requires hands-on experience, leadership, and strong safety awareness.

🔧 Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate roughneck and deckhand activities on the drilling floor
Handle drill pipe, casings, and tubing, assisting in tripping operations
Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and used safely
Train and mentor junior roughnecks and roustabouts
Maintain safety standards during all drilling operations
Monitor and report on equipment or operational hazards
Assist the Derrickman and Driller during high-risk operations

Experience as a Roughneck or Roustabout
Offshore certification from OPITO (BOSIET & HUET)
Offshore medical certificate
Proven ability to supervise and coordinate crew safely
